According to Dr. Elaine Aron, best selling author of ‘The
Highly Sensitive Person’, 15 – 20% of us are highly sensitive. Is this a good
thing?
Well, yes and no because on the one hand, being sensitive
means a person is more compassionate, has more acute senses and is highly
intuitive, but on the other hand being sensitive and gentle in a non-sensitive
world can be incredibly trying.
Marlon Brando, the much vaunted star who ‘hated’ being
famous was clearly a highly sensitive person and displayed many of the gifts
one can expect to possess as a HSP (highly sensitive person).
Compassion
Intuition
Creativity
Adaptability
Acting ability (related to adaptability)
Empathy
These are just some of the gifts highly sensitive people are
lucky to have and if one studies Marlon Brando and his acting career, it is
easy to see these traits on display.
So if you are sensitive, be proud to be because you are in possession
of some wonderful gifts!
