A Quote About Being Sensitive from Mr. Marlon Brando

Photo by TRF_MR_HYDE, available under a Creative Commons Attribution-commercial license.

According to Dr. Elaine Aron, best selling author of ‘The Highly Sensitive Person’, 15 – 20% of us are highly sensitive. Is this a good thing?

Well, yes and no because on the one hand, being sensitive means a person is more compassionate, has more acute senses and is highly intuitive, but on the other hand being sensitive and gentle in a non-sensitive world can be incredibly trying.

Marlon Brando, the much vaunted star who ‘hated’ being famous was clearly a highly sensitive person and displayed many of the gifts one can expect to possess as a HSP (highly sensitive person).

Compassion
Intuition
Creativity
Adaptability
Acting ability (related to adaptability)
Empathy

These are just some of the gifts highly sensitive people are lucky to have and if one studies Marlon Brando and his acting career, it is easy to see these traits on display.

So if you are sensitive, be proud to be because you are in possession of some wonderful gifts!

Peace.

Time Well Spent

Spend Your Time Wisely

What is more valuable than money? Possessions? Love? Power? No, none of those. TIME is the most valuable currency of all for without time, there would be no life, no opportunity to gain possessions or to find love.

With that in mind, ask yourself this question: How am I spending my time? Am I spending my time on things that further me, intellectually, physically or monetarily?

OR am I wasting this most precious currency on activities that simply ‘pass time’ or worse still, am I allowing others to waste this time for me?

Why so many questions, you ask. Well, questions illicit answers and if one is to be successful in any endeavor in life, questions must constantly be asked and answered because in those answers are the essence of ‘you’, the answerer. Consider the Socratic Method employed by Socrates to instruct his students and encourage thinking.

Therefore, two things must be routinely monitored each and every day. TIME and your use of it, and CONTEMPLATION as a means of staying on track and growing as is natural to all life.

So, monitor your time and your use of it and constantly seek ways to better use your time so that one day you can realize your dreams, or your purpose.

Let others waste their time while you spend it wisely.

Can you honestly say that you are spending your time wisely?

There's no Time Like the Present

In fact, there's no time but the present! The rest has either happened already or yet to happen so do your utmost to stay grounded in the present moment.

Fear of the unknown often causes us to be apprehensive about the future and it leaves a heavy weight upon our shoulders and a shadow across our faces. Regret about the past is much the same and therefore effectively useless to us as it only seems to make us ill or afraid all the time.

Stay in the moment and practice appreciating all the good things around you as well as constantly seeking to improve both yourself and your environment.

Peace.

Challenges are Inevitable

Such a fine piece of wisdom here.

We are all able to overcome the more mundane challenges we are familiar with, such as learning to walk as babies, learning to ride a bike, finding our first job, buying a house etc and I believe this is due to the fact that we see others overcoming these challenges all around us. What happens then is we start seeing them less as challenges and more as 'options' but make no mistake about it, they ARE challenges and as such we should give ourselves a little more credit when we overcome them.

Anyway, I'm off to challenge myself.

I hope you'll do the same my fellow explorers.

Peace. :)

Is it Obstacles or Opportunities for You?

How are You Living Your Life?

When you look closely at life and all its components, from an objective point of view of course, you see that there are two types of people (forgive me for the cliche) inhabiting this earth - those who predominantly see obstacles and those who predominantly see opportunities.

I would say that most people are obstacle perceivers. You only have to look around you to see this. A small percentage of us are out there seeking our goals and passion and as a result, bringing the human race forward into the future, while the rest of us are content (or not so content - but still inactive) to exist in mediocrity.

Why?

Why isn't everybody pushing their boundaries and seeing challenges as opportunities to grow and thrive?

There are many reasons, however, the important question is not 'why' but 'what'.

What are you? An obstacle perceiver who let's his dreams fade away because the path ahead hasn't been signposted and redcarpeted? OR - An opportunity seeker who sees those big O's as neccessary challenges that once completed will result in your growth and therefore one more step towards your dream, your ultimate goal?

I know which one you would like to be ... so ... BE IT!

Peace to you.

Success Messages - The Beginning of a Long and Fruitful Journey

Welcome to the very first addition and post of Success Messages from the great ones.

To be honest, it wasn't difficult to choose the first success quote as this is surely one of the most inspiring of all, especially if you have watched the 6 Rocky movies.

Life is tough and it's going to throw punches at you tirelessly. It really is up to you, whether you fall and stay down or you get back up and learn from your mistakes.

Get hit --- Fall down --- Get back up --- That is what winners do!

Share this quote with those who need it, and if this quote has touched you today... well then that's my day made!

More quotes to come soon. Until then...

Peace. :)
