Intuition Has Been Left on the Back-burner for Too Long!

Even back when Einstein was around intuition was a rare thing to be found in people, especially the scientists and thinkers of the time, and things haven't changed much nowadays either, so it seems.

Just to clarify:

According to freedictionary.com intuition is - "The act or faculty of knowing or sensing without the use of rational processes; immediate cognition."

Now we all know that Einstein was a great supporter of intuition and imagination due to the plethora of quotes like the one above and in fact it was imagination along with this 'knowing' that brought us his 'Special Theory of Relativity'.

Fond of exploring new possibilties through the use of imagination, Einstein once imagined himself running alongside a beam of light and turning to see how it appeared as he ran with it. Not long after and as a result of this 'thought experiment' he developed his Special Theory of Relativity.

Where almost all other scientists relied on logic and rational thinking to develop science, Einstein relied on the inexhaustable power of intuition to guide him and the power of imagination to build the blueprints of advancement.

Just imagine ... Einstein changed the world with ... imagination and intuition. 'Imagine' what you can do if you follow his example.

"Imagination is more important than knowledge." - Einstein

Intuitively, you 'know' what you want ... what your life purpose is. Intuition shows you through subtle nuances of feeling rather than the 'thought material' that rational thinking gives. Intuition is like a good friend that knows what is best for you and so let's you know through feeling signals. Rational thought however comes solely from your 'experience' and 'memories' of life and will be tempered by your fears and predjudices, therefore more than likely serving to steer you away from that which which would make you happiest - a dream career, house, spouse, project etc.

Intuition will gladly inform you of the direction in which to go while your limitless imagination will supply you with the means and the inspiration to get there. Have a safe journey! :)

Until next time, success seekers.

Oh nearly forgot, here is another person who more than likely used intuition.

Peace.

A Quote About Being Sensitive from Mr. Marlon Brando

Photo by TRF_MR_HYDE, available under a Creative Commons Attribution-commercial license.

According to Dr. Elaine Aron, best selling author of ‘The Highly Sensitive Person’, 15 – 20% of us are highly sensitive. Is this a good thing?

Well, yes and no because on the one hand, being sensitive means a person is more compassionate, has more acute senses and is highly intuitive, but on the other hand being sensitive and gentle in a non-sensitive world can be incredibly trying.

Marlon Brando, the much vaunted star who ‘hated’ being famous was clearly a highly sensitive person and displayed many of the gifts one can expect to possess as a HSP (highly sensitive person).

Compassion
Intuition
Creativity
Adaptability
Acting ability (related to adaptability)
Empathy

These are just some of the gifts highly sensitive people are lucky to have and if one studies Marlon Brando and his acting career, it is easy to see these traits on display.

So if you are sensitive, be proud to be because you are in possession of some wonderful gifts!

Peace.

Time Well Spent

Spend Your Time Wisely

What is more valuable than money? Possessions? Love? Power? No, none of those. TIME is the most valuable currency of all for without time, there would be no life, no opportunity to gain possessions or to find love.

With that in mind, ask yourself this question: How am I spending my time? Am I spending my time on things that further me, intellectually, physically or monetarily?

OR am I wasting this most precious currency on activities that simply ‘pass time’ or worse still, am I allowing others to waste this time for me?

Why so many questions, you ask. Well, questions illicit answers and if one is to be successful in any endeavor in life, questions must constantly be asked and answered because in those answers are the essence of ‘you’, the answerer. Consider the Socratic Method employed by Socrates to instruct his students and encourage thinking.

Therefore, two things must be routinely monitored each and every day. TIME and your use of it, and CONTEMPLATION as a means of staying on track and growing as is natural to all life.

So, monitor your time and your use of it and constantly seek ways to better use your time so that one day you can realize your dreams, or your purpose.

Let others waste their time while you spend it wisely.

Can you honestly say that you are spending your time wisely?

There's no Time Like the Present

In fact, there's no time but the present! The rest has either happened already or yet to happen so do your utmost to stay grounded in the present moment.

Fear of the unknown often causes us to be apprehensive about the future and it leaves a heavy weight upon our shoulders and a shadow across our faces. Regret about the past is much the same and therefore effectively useless to us as it only seems to make us ill or afraid all the time.

Stay in the moment and practice appreciating all the good things around you as well as constantly seeking to improve both yourself and your environment.

Sometimes, Envisioning the End Result Helps One Achieve a Goal

Often, when I'm feeling lazy or discouraged about a project, personal or otherwise, I just 'stop' and all progress grinds to a halt. That's when the T.V. remote appears in my hand and a few hours consequently spent watching shows I have already seen.

It's a difficult feeling to shake. At those times I need to be inspired and motivated to get back to work and one of the most effective ways of giving myself the kick-up-up-the-backside I need is to re-visit my reasons for pursuing whatever goal it is I'm after.

I then imagine just how wonderful it will be once I have achieved my goal and am living it, every day of the rest of my life. The longer I image it the more I'm enthused with that powerful force - motivation.

Or failing that, I'll watch Rocky 1!

An Enthusiastic Approach to Life

Well said, Mr. Emerson. Let me just start with a little analogy here, if you don't mind.

"If a purpose or a desire is our wood, then enthusiasm is the fire."
In other words, we can have as many goals and 'wishes' as we can think up AND tell the whole world, but if deep down we don't have real, lasting enthusiasm for those goals, then I'm afraid it will become just another project put on the backburner.

How do you get enthusiasm?

That's the easy part. In order to light the fire/enthusiasm, one must first have wood/goal.

What do you love? What do you care about so deeply that you would get involved with it for free and be happy to spend hours working on it?

Start there. If it's the right purpose for you then the enthusiasm will naturally follow, otherwise ...

Peace.
